Senior Technical Analyst
at ORACLE in Cairo
This team specializes in expert level host system and application restoration to minimize outage downtime and maximize system availability. Command Center is also responsible for first level outage reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action identification. Command Center develops and promotes long term solutions in the areas of operations process improvement, configuration management, and product enhancements to increase overall system reliability.
Candidate should be capable of working in highly stressful situations, capable of original thinking and teamwork.
Technical knowledge, quality of work, high motivation, and good interpersonal/cross disciplinary trouble shooting skills are the key for success in this role and position. Candidate should have strong inter-personal and communication skills in English and be capable of working with Oracle customers. Candidate should be highly skilled in administering Oracle applications and databases on UNIX/Linux environments in both a single tier and multi-tier architecture.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems.
Provide DBA services to application development teams and database production support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness.
Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

In addition, as a Senior Database Administrator, you are instrumental in researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending, and implementing solutions to various problems you may encounter. May act as a team lead during from time to time for various projects.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.
Responsible for identifying, analyzing and resolving technical problems related to Oracle software systems.
Restore failed services; find workarounds to reduce business outage situations
Skills
8 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with focus on Oracle and related tools. Success at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is a plus.
Minimum three years of Database Administration experience and hands on experience of Oracle EBSO Applications. Desirable: A degree in computer science or a related field.
Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.
Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX commands/utilities is necessary. Understands job control, soft and hard links, distinctions between the kernel and the shell, etc.
Knowledge of RAC, administering Oracle EBSO environments, Standby database and distributed computing environment concepts is a plus.
Understanding of SQL and shell scripting is expected.
Strong written and documentation skills.
Fluency in English for verbal and written communication.
