Head of Retail
at Confidential Company in Kuwait
• Major Functions
Handles all Top line Retail Business activities, Develops Strategies and sets Action Plans, Leads, coaches and directs head office team, Liaises with the management on major issues and general networking, Formulates Budgeting and monitors P&L performance, Reviews and analyses shops performance, Plans new shop openings, Validates Implementation of policies, procedure and shops standards.
o Basic Duties & Responsibilities
• Functional & Operational Responsibilities
• Managing all the team and Top line Retail operation.
• Validation of all policies and procedures implemented
• Validation of Shop's basic retail standards by coaching Area manager.
• Promotions and displays approvals and flyer implementation plan.
• Ensures staff is getting adequate training on all the basics.
• Reviewing shop product Availability and back area disciplines.
• Introduces processes and procedures to improve operation.
• Develops sales and profit improvement initiatives and roll them out.
• Formulates budget and future growth plans for the Retail operation
• Overseeing Retail outlets top line operation
• People Management
• Coach and develop team and follows up performance against agreed goals.
• Trains and mentors Area Manager on Retail standards through shops visits.
• High level coaching to shop supervisor and other junior members of Retail team.
o Special Assignment Responsibilities
• Handles all new project introductions, plans and validates implementation.
• Oversees all activities of new openings
• Dealings and progress review with third party suppliers and contractors
• Basic Legal and general check to ensure we are complying with the local rules and regulations.
• Administrative Responsibilities
• Communicates via email on day to day queries from management.
• Communicates performance, progress and plans to line manger
• Produces and share performance reports and plans with management
• To ensure compliance with regulations of local authorities etc
• To immediately diffuse issues that may arise from inspections/penalties
o General Responsibilities
• Prepares the presentations of plans for Top Management
• General networking across the business as per business needs.
• Analysis and reviews performance against plans
Skills
o Education:
- Degree in Business management or related - Masters
o Work Experience:
- 10 years experience in Operations in Retail industry should be position in a leadership role prior to being selected for this one. 5 or more years in a reputable supermarket environment.
o Skills:
- Language: Proficient in English and Arabic communication is required
- Computer: : MS Office, Oracle and advanced IT
o Supervision:
- Supervised by: (GM Sales and operations)
o Training Required:
- At least 2 month induction required in the Head office with management team and in the field.
o Minimum time
- 3 month initial probationary followed by 12 months mandatory
